Welcome from the Headmistress
Welcome to Crossroads School! Crossroads School understands that there are many children whose needs are not being met in mainstream primary schools and therefore need guidance and assistance. We believe that children with learning disabilities can be incredibly successful if they are truly given the opportunity to learn. Crossroads School is a child-driven school where each student’s ample strengths and specific educational needs are viewed as the perfect match for an integrated, individualised academic program implemented by highly trained, experienced educators and therapists.
At Crossroads School, children, teachers, therapists and parents form a strong partnership in and out of the classroom as they take the educational journey, which will give students the skills necessary to return to mainstream classrooms. Crossroads School believes that students’ abilities, not their disabilities, will ultimately drive the successful transition from academic struggle to academic strength. Through extensive use of research-based strategies and materials, the staff helps students develop a true understanding of academic content and an active learning style critical to educational success.
We believe in the education and nurturing of the whole child in preparation for the students’ successful, active participation in an increasingly complex, exciting world. Children leave Crossroads School with confidence in their academic abilities, a true belief in their worth as human beings, and the strategies necessary to meet the challenges of their new school and social settings.
Crossroads School has been able to attract and retain an extraordinary staff dedicated to increasing outcomes in all areas for all students.
We invite you to explore our website and capture the essence and spirit of Crossroads School as a warm, nurturing, challenging environment in which children grow and succeed with every opportunity.
