The library forms the heart of Crossroads. Engendering a love of reading is central to the growth and development of all our learners. Remedial learners are often reluctant readers and the library forms a safe space to explore the written word and enjoy a gripping story in a relaxed environment. A dedicated lesson each week is given and learners make take books out of the library to take home and enjoy.
Many of the books are old and get lost so replacement and restocking is always important. The learners are encouraged to donate a book to commemorate their birthdays.
We attempt to purchase series of books that we know are popular to encourage the children to read. Whilst we have a small library budget, donations to fund new books, cushions etc are always most welcome.
Should you wish to make a donation, please contact Denise Stoltz.
